Layover in Lisbon
Michael and I were able to visit Lisbon, Portugal using the Tap Air Portugal Stopover program. We booked our flights really early (End of January) and for fairly cheap too. The Tap Air Portugal stopover program lets you visit Lisbon or Porto. We had about a 7 hour layover and felt like we were able to hit most of the spots. Here's how our layover went:
Once we landed in Lisbon, we headed over the the ABC-Airport Business Center Lounge. Michael and I packed very light- each of us only bringing a backpack. This lounge provides showers and refreshments, so we had everything we needed to freshen up after our long flight. You can access this lounge using Priority Pass. (click link to get 10% off your membership). After we changed, we went to drop off our luggage at the luggage hold at the Lisbon Airport. This is located in the Arrivals area, before secutiry, next to Park P2 (basically on the right hand side of the airport). You can store items for as long as you like and it's affordable.
You can take the Aero bus for 3 euros, but we decided to take an Uber in, which wasn't that much more. We asked to get dropped off at Praca do Comercio which is right along the water. There's many landmarks/museums in this area and we thought it would be a perfect place to start. We walked along the beach and then made our way in toward the city.
We also had time to stop by the Manteigaria Bakery, We bought a few egg custard tarts to go (pictured here with Michael). They were delicious!!! Once we got back to the airport, we had enough time to pick up our luggage and hang out at the ANA Lounge where we got more refreshments before our flight to Berlin, Germany. I highly recommend trying out the TAP Air Portugal stopover program. You can even stay a few days if you'd like. We will definitely be back for a longer trip!
