Getting to know Team #BossWomxn: Deb
I am the Team Captain of #BossWomxn. This virtual relay hosted by Run 4 All Women will take place September 21st - 27th, 2020, and cover the 680 miles from Atlanta to Washington, DC. This relay benefits Black Voters Matter, which is an organization that is dedicated to increasing power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. I will be running to remind people they have power!! I want to utilize our amazing running community to educate and raise awareness for voter registration. I will be highlighting some of the bad ass womxn on my team and learning some fun facts on how they recover in between running, walking, hiking, cycling, etc. Recovery is a key ingredient to self care. It's important to me that everyone on my team practices it!
My third feature will be Deb.
Morgan: What is your current workout routine?
Deb: I normally run 6x a week and try to swim once a week. I’ll throw in an ab workout once in a new moon. This year, I’ve been loving the trails, so I’ll also go trail running or hiking once a week.
M: Must have food post run?
D: Burritos! When I’m in the mood for breakfast burritos, I’ll get the Jalapeño breakfast burrito from Tacos Por Favor in Venice, and when I want a regular burrito, I’ll get the carnitas burrito from Holy Guacamole in Santa Monica..
M: Your ideal pizza slice after a long run?
D: My ideal slice (or two!) would be a plain slice and a grandma slice from Joe’s in NYC. The closest I’ve found in LA has been a plain slice from Mulberry St Pizzeria in Beverly Hills.
M: Your ideal coffee order after a morning run/walk?
D: I normally get a cold foam cold brew from Starbucks but right now I’m loving the Pumpkin cream cold brew. If I’m splurging, I’ll get an iced coffee with oat milk from Cafe Luxxe in Santa Monica.
M: Do you use any tools for recovery? (Foam roll, cbd, etc?)
D: I use the Hypervolt, the stick, and lots of stretching. My ideal recovery tool would be a Normatec!
M: What does your ideal “lazy Sunday” entail?
D: Watching movies in bed, preferably a Harry Potter marathon, and napping after a long morning run and breakfast burrito from Tacos Por Favor. And a regular can of Coke! That’s the dream
I love getting to know these awesome womxn on my team and I hope this gave you an insight to their amazing personalities as well!
